Funding Code Reminder Checklist

Checked eligibility at childcarechoices.gov.uk
Logged in to Government Gateway (HMRC) account
Applied for funded hours entitlement
Received 11-digit eligibility code
Shared code with JLK at registration or before term start
Confirmed with nursery that code has been validated

Apply early. Codes can take up to a week to be confirmed. If your code is not active before term starts, you may miss that term's funding.

🔄 Every 3 Months — Renewal

Set a phone reminder 2 weeks before code expiry
Logged in to Government Gateway (HMRC) to reconfirm eligibility
Checked that employment income still meets the minimum threshold
Received renewed code
Shared new code with nursery before the new term begins

Tip: Your code renews on a 3-month cycle. HMRC usually sends a reminder, but it's worth setting your own calendar alert too — missing a renewal can result in you losing that term's funding.

💷 What Your Funding Covers

Funded hours are deducted from your weekly invoice during term time
Holiday sessions are charged at the standard daily rate
Meals are charged separately if attending on funded hours only
Tax-Free Childcare can top up any fees not covered by funding
