Session Fees
These fees are shown as a guide to help families understand our session options. Final fees may vary depending on your child's age, funded hours eligibility, sessions booked, meals, consumables and holiday attendance.
Minimum booking: 2 full days / 4 mornings / 3 afternoons. Ad-hoc sessions subject to availability.
Things to Know
Attending funded hours only?
If you elect to attend for funded hours only, a small consumables charge applies for meals taken during those sessions: Breakfast £2 • Snack £2 • Lunch £4.50 • Tea £4.
These charges are voluntary — parents/carers can opt out and supply their child's own food during funded sessions. Families paying standard fees have all meals included as standard.
Attending outside term time?
Government funding applies term time only. If you wish to use the nursery outside of term time, the regular daily rate applies. For ad-hoc attendance during half terms, the ad-hoc daily rate applies — please see the fee schedule above.
Monthly invoice amounts may vary
Invoices are based on the number of week days in each calendar month, so the total will differ slightly from month to month. The daily rate remains the same — only the number of chargeable days changes.
Joining JLK — registration fee & deposit
When you confirm your place, two payments apply:
- One-off registration fee — £75 Croydon, £55 Lewisham, £55 Bromley. Non-refundable. This fee does not apply to families using fully funded places only.
- Refundable deposit equal to one month's fees — held by us and offset against your final invoice when your child eventually leaves.
We'll email you a secure registration link — no paper forms.
No extracurricular charges
We do not currently offer extracurricular activities (such as languages, dance, football, cooking or day trips), so no separate charges apply for these. Standard daily fees cover all learning, play and outdoor activities at the nursery.
Funded Hours & Standard Rates
Your funded entitlement is included free
Eligible families receive 15 or 30 government funded hours per week (term-time only, approximately 38 weeks per year). These hours are included free at JLK — we don't deduct funding from a higher "top-up" figure, we simply don't charge for the hours covered by your entitlement.
Hours beyond your funded entitlement (additional sessions, holiday weeks, or any pattern of hours your funded entitlement doesn't cover) are charged at the standard daily and hourly rates below.
Available funded patterns
30 funded hours — available as 3 full days (08:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday), choose your weekday combination.
15 funded hours — available as either mornings (08:00 – 11:00, Monday to Friday) or afternoons (13:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday).
Please note: a "stretched" 09:00 – 15:00 pattern across 5 days is not available at JLK. We offer the patterns above to keep room ratios and routines consistent for all children.
Standard rate for hours not covered by funding
Hourly equivalent shown for clarity (full-day rate divided by 10 hours, 08:00 – 18:00). Voluntary meal charges apply separately on funded sessions (parents can opt out and supply their own — see fees above). Contact your nursery for a quote tailored to your session pattern.
