About JLK Lewisham
Just Little Kidz Lewisham is located at 41 Loampit Vale, SE13 7FT — a welcoming, nurturing setting in the heart of Lewisham. We welcome children from 3 months up to 5 years old, and our dedicated team of early years practitioners ensure every child feels safe, loved and ready to learn.
We are Ofsted-registered, DBS-checked and members of the NDNA. Our Lewisham setting offers a home-from-home environment with an emphasis on outdoor play and child-led exploration.
Opening hours
JLK Lewisham is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm, 51 weeks per year. We close on bank holidays and for one week over Christmas.
Our hours are designed to support working families across Lewisham, Hither Green and the surrounding area. If you need to discuss your specific schedule, our team are happy to help find the right pattern for your family.
Session types
We offer flexible sessions to suit your family's routine:
- Full day — the most popular option for working parents
- Half day morning — ideal for younger children building up hours gradually
- Half day afternoon — available subject to space
- Ad-hoc sessions — subject to availability, booked in advance
Minimum bookings apply. View the full Lewisham fee schedule →
Government-funded hours
Your child may be entitled to government-funded early education hours, which can reduce — or in some cases eliminate — your weekly fees during term time.
- From 9 months: 15 government funded hours/week for eligible working families
- 2-year-olds: 15 government funded hours/week for eligible families
- 3 & 4-year-olds: 15 government funded hours/week for all; up to 30 for working families
We accept all major funded entitlements at Lewisham. Check your eligibility and get your code at childcarechoices.gov.uk, then share it with us at registration.
Note: funded hours are term-time only. Holiday sessions are charged at the standard daily rate.
Meals & snacks
We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals throughout the day — you do not need to send a packed lunch. Our menus are planned to be balanced, child-friendly and varied.
We cater for all dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences. Please let us know at registration so we can make the right arrangements before your child starts.
A small food charge applies for children attending on government-funded-only sessions (breakfast £2, snack £2, lunch £4.50, tea £4). This does not apply to children paying standard fees.
Settling in: what to expect
We have a structured, gentle settling-in process designed to make the transition as smooth as possible — for your child and for you. It typically involves a series of short visits before your child's official start date, gradually building in length and independence.
Every child is assigned a key person — a dedicated practitioner who builds a close relationship with your child, learns their routines and becomes a familiar, trusted face from day one.
What to bring on the first day
We keep it simple. You'll need:
- Nappies and wipes (if your child is not yet toilet trained)
- A labelled change of clothes (two is better)
- Any comfort item your child relies on (teddy, dummy — all welcome)
- Any medication with a completed consent form
