The way a parent feels on their first tour decides almost everything that follows. This pathway is how we make that first 45 minutes consistently warm, honest and JLK — across every tour leader, at every site.

The 5 levels of Tour Excellence

You move up the ladder by passing the modules and by leading real tours under observation. The two reinforce each other — knowledge without practice and practice without knowledge both miss the point.

The 15 modules

Modules are grouped by the level they unlock. Pass them in order — each tier builds on the last. Modules with full content are ready to take now; others are scheduled and will arrive over the coming weeks.

How sign-off works

  1. Complete the module — read it, watch the worked example, pass the 5-question quiz.
  2. Your manager sees the record — every completion lands in the JLK Academy training records sheet automatically.
  3. For Bronze and above: book a tour to shadow, then a tour to lead — your manager scores it against the Tour Rubric in person.
  4. Certification is awarded once both the modules and the observed tours are signed off.
